We are recruiting a part-time role (32 hours) in Bellshill, offering a great pathway to Optical Assistant jobs with full training to become a qualified Dispensing Optician. This position is based in a busy practice located 10 miles from Glasgow, featuring a starting salary of up to £12.91 per hour and protected off-the-job learning time.
What you'll be doing
- Undertaking a structured 3-year training programme due to begin in September 2027
- Developing expertise in professional practice, patient care, and specialist dispensing
- Building clinical awareness, communication skills, and confidence in low vision and visual aids
- Creating a warm and welcoming environment for customers and colleagues alike
- Contributing to an outstanding patient experience in-store every day
What we're looking for
- Previous experience within an optical environment
- 5 GCSEs (grade 4-9 / A-C) including Maths, English and Science
- An employment contract of 30+ hours per week
- UK residency with the right to work and study for the full duration of the programme
- Positivity, ambition, and a genuine passion for patient care
