We are recruiting an Optical Assistant for a busy, customer-focused practice in the heart of Brighton, offering Optical Assistant jobs in Brighton that combine practical experience with structured learning. This position is offered on a full-time, 40 hours a week, to include weekend working basis on a 15 to 18-month apprenticeship scheme, paying £8.20 per hour.
What you'll be doing as an Optical Assistant in Brighton
- Welcoming customers into store and answering phone calls
- Booking in eye tests and carrying out pre-screening for patients
- Providing style advice to help customers choose from a wide selection of glasses and sunglasses
- Measuring frames to ensure a comfortable and accurate fit
- Delivering personalised care and building genuine relationships with the local community
What we're looking for
- A caring, passionate and motivated approach with great listening and communication skills
- A strong team player who is keen to learn, develop and collaborate with colleagues
- GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C) in Maths, or an equivalent/predicted result
- Individuals who have lived in the EU for 3 years or more, with the right to work in the UK
- No previous experience working in the optical sector, with the ability to travel to the practice location on a daily basis
