This apprenticeship is a great opportunity to secure permanent 40 hours including weekend requirement per week while starting your career in the optics sector. We are currently looking for a motivated candidate for Optical Assistant jobs located in the vibrant Talbot Heath area of the South West. You will earn a £8.20 per hour wage while working towards a nationally recognised qualification and gaining hands-on retail experience.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming customers into store and providing a warm first impression
- Booking in eye tests and managing appointments efficiently
- Pre-screening patients ahead of their clinical consultations
- Providing style advice and helping patients choose frames
- Measuring frames to ensure a correct and comfortable fit
- Taking phone calls and handling general customer enquiries
What we're looking for
- Passionate and motivated attitude with strong listening and communication skills
- Great team player keen to make a difference in their own development and within the business
- Grade 9-4 (A*-C) GCSEs in Maths (or equivalent/predicted result)
- Individuals who have lived in the EU for 3 years or more, with the right to work in the UK
- Essential requirement: you must not have previously worked in the optical sector
