We are recruiting for a full-time Optical Assistant position based in Winton, offering candidates in the South West an exciting opportunity to earn while they learn. This permanent apprenticeship role pays £8.20 per hour and includes weekend working requirements across a 40-hour week.
What you'll be doing
Working in a friendly and fast-paced environment, you will support patients throughout their eye care journey while gaining valuable hands-on experience.
- Welcoming customers into store
- Booking in eye tests and taking phone calls
- Pre-screening patients before their appointments
- Providing style advice and measuring frames
- Completing structured learning over a 15 to 18 month period to become fully qualified
What we're looking for
You do not need previous optical experience, as full training will be provided by our experienced team.
- Grade 9-4 (A*-C) GCSEs in Maths (or equivalent/predicted result)
- Right to work in the UK with at least three years of residency in the EU
- Great listening, communication, and team player skills
- A genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service
