We are currently looking to fill Optical Assistant jobs in Crowborough for a welcoming, community-focused practice in the heart of the area. This permanent 37.5 hours per week including weekends position offers a starting wage of £8.20 per hour while you complete a 15-to-18-month structured learning and on-the-job training program.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming customers into the practice
- Booking in eye tests and pre-screening patients
- Providing style advice and measuring frames
- Taking phone calls and delivering excellent customer service
What we're looking for
- GCSEs in Maths at grades 9–4 (A*–C) or an equivalent qualification
- Right to work in the UK and having lived in the EU for at least 3 years
- Not currently enrolled in another government-funded course and no previous experience working in the optical sector
- Passionate, motivated, and a great listener with strong communication skills
- Ability to travel to the practice location on a daily basis
