We are recruiting an Optometrist for a position based on the east coast, covering Edinburgh, Livingston, Haddington, Peebles, Galashiels and surrounding areas, with full-time and part-time hours available. This role lets you take your clinical expertise directly to patients who cannot visit a high street practice, bringing essential eye care and support to the heart of the community.
What you'll be doing
- Driving to patients' homes within your assigned territory to provide comprehensive eye examinations and clinical care
- Helping vulnerable patients with sight tests and supporting them with basic tasks they cannot manage alone
- Working independently while collaborating closely with a dedicated support team
- Managing your daily schedule and travel efficiently using your provided vehicle or allowance
What we're looking for
- Full registration with the General Optical Council (GOC) and a commitment to keeping your registration up to date
- A full UK driving licence
- Confidence, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for delivering patient-centred care
- Comfort with both lone working and being part of a wider mobile team
Salary and benefits
- Basic salary of £65,000 FTE (depending on experience)
- Car allowance of £5,000 FTE or a company car
