We are looking for a dedicated Optometrist to join a mobile eye care team covering full-time or part-time hours across Galashiels and the surrounding Scottish borders. This community-focused role offers a basic salary of £65,000 fte (depending on experience) along with a £10,000 welcome bonus (pro rata for part-time).
What you'll be doing
- Providing essential clinical eye care to patients in their own homes who are unable to visit a traditional practice
- Travelling across a designated territory covering Edinburgh, Livingston, Haddington, Peebles, and Galashiels using a company car or car allowance
- Helping patients maintain their independence by supporting them with sight testing and essential daily tasks
- Delivering a friendly, reassuring service that brings quality care directly to the heart of the community
- Working independently while also collaborating closely with a supportive regional team
What we're looking for
- GOC registration as a qualified optometrist with an up-to-date membership
- A full driving licence to travel between patient appointments across the region
- A confident, compassionate approach with a strong passion for delivering exceptional patient care
- Comfort with both lone working and being part of a wider mobile healthcare team
