We are recruiting for Optical Assistant jobs in Braintree, offering Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm (flexibility required) on a permanent basis. This mobile role brings eye care directly to people who are unable to visit standard practices, covering a region stretching from Romford to Colchester and Bishop's Stortford to Southend-on-Sea, with the team aiming to keep you as close to home as possible.
What you'll be doing
- Driving the mobile eye care service to patient doorsteps across the community
- Working in a varied range of locations and testing environments every day, ensuring no two days are the same
- Providing clinical care and bringing smiles to patients who cannot access high street stores
- Dispensing lenses at all levels with confidence
What we're looking for
- Current or recent optical experience of at least 6 months to 1 year
- The ability to confidently dispense lenses at all levels
- A full UK driving licence
- Previous experience in a fast-paced customer service environment is desirable
Salary and benefits
- Salary: up to £29,000 per annum DOE (combined package of up to £35,000 per annum)
