We are recruiting for a full-time, permanent Optical Assistant position covering Chelmsford, offering a combined package of up to £35,000 per annum and a chance to step away from the standard test room routine. This mobile community role is ideal if you are exploring Optical Assistant jobs that bring variety and clinical support directly to patients who cannot visit high street practices.
What you'll be doing
- Driving our services to the doorsteps of patients in their own homes
- Delivering essential eye care and bringing support into the heart of the community
- Working in a range of different locations and testing environments every day so that no two days are the same
- Travelling across a regional patch with routes kept as close to your home as possible
- Dispensing lenses at all levels for patients in their own homes
What we're looking for
- Current or recent optical experience of at least 6 months to 1 year
- The ability to confidently dispense lenses at all levels
- A full UK driving licence
- Previous experience in a fast-paced customer service environment is desirable
Salary and benefits
- Salary of up to £29,000 per annum DOE (with a combined package of up to £35,000 per annum)
- Car allowance of £3,000 per annum
- Performance-based bonus averaging between £2,000 and £3,000 per annum
- Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm
