We are recruiting for a permanent full-time, 37.5 hours a week, to include weekend working Optical Assistant in Deal, offering Optical Assistant vacancies for candidates looking to start a career in optics while earning a full-time wage. You will spend 15 to 18 months on an apprenticeship programme combining paid on-the-job training with structured learning, designed to set you up for a great career as a fully qualified team member.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming customers into the store and building genuine relationships
- Booking in eye tests and managing phone calls
- Pre-screening patients to support clinical care
- Providing expert style advice and measuring frames
- Working collaboratively across retail and clinical areas with a friendly, knowledgeable team
What we're looking for
- GCSEs in Maths at grades 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent/predicted result
- Right to work in the UK, having lived in the EU for 3 years or more
- No previous experience working in the optical sector
- Excellent communication skills, active listening, and a great team player attitude
- Ability to travel to the store location in Deal on a daily basis
