We are currently hiring for a permanent Optical Assistant position in Runcorn, offering full-time hours of 38.1 hours per week with weekend working essential, and a starting wage of £8.20 an hour. This hands-on opportunity includes a structured 15 to 18-month training programme to kickstart your career in optics.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming customers into store
- Booking in eye tests and pre-screening patients
- Providing expert style advice and measuring frames
- Handling phone calls and general customer enquiries
What we're looking for
- Passionate, motivated and caring individual who is a great listener and communicator
- Strong team player eager to develop within the business
- GCSEs in Maths at grades 9–4 (A*–C) or equivalent qualification
- Must have lived in the EU for at least 3 years, have the right to work in the UK, and not be currently enrolled in another government-funded course
- Essential that you have not previously worked in the optical sector and can travel to the store on a daily basis
