We are recruiting an Optometrist for a permanent full-time or part-time position in South Shields, offering a competitive salary of up to £65,000 per annum depending on experience. Located in the vibrant coastal town with easy access to the A1, A19 and nearby Newcastle, this well-established practice features modern facilities, including five test rooms equipped with phoropters and OCT technology.
What you'll be doing
- Deliver comprehensive eye examinations to a diverse patient base
- Utilise modern clinical technology to ensure the highest standard of patient care
- Work with flexible testing schedules, generally accommodating 20-25 minute slots based on individual needs
- Collaborate with an experienced, supportive team to provide personalised eyecare solutions
What we're looking for
- Qualified and GOC-registered Optometrist
- A strong work ethic, clinical confidence and a proactive approach
- Genuine passion for delivering exceptional patient care and supporting colleagues
- Experience with independent prescribing (IP) or other higher accreditations is beneficial, though support is available for further development
