We are currently recruiting for a community-focused Dispensing Optician jobs opening in Kendal, offering a basic salary of £35,000 fte (depending on experience) and the chance to deliver vital eye care directly to patients in their own homes and care facilities across the region.
What you'll be doing
This position focuses on providing essential optical services outside of a traditional practice environment, combining clinical expertise with genuine community care.
- Provide comprehensive eye care to vulnerable patients in their homes and care facilities
- Conduct sight tests and dispense optical appliances
- Support patients with basic daily tasks through your services
- Build rapport and trust with a diverse patient base
- Represent the practice professionally within the community
What we're looking for
To excel in this role, you will need to meet the following professional standards and qualifications:
- Registration with the General Optical Council (GOC)
- Previous experience working as a Dispensing Optician
- A full UK driving licence
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
- Confidence in using new systems, tablets, and laptops
