This Optometrist - Part Time vacancy involves conducting comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fittings, and extended service examinations. You will collaborate with the Dispensing Optician Manager to support colleagues through training and coaching, ensuring departmental standards are consistently met.
The role also includes delivering a wide range of care for the treatment and monitoring of eye conditions, supported by the practice to gain any necessary additional accreditations. You will play a key role in developing new patient services and shaping the culture of the optical department.
Responsibilities for this Optometrist - Part Time position
- Conduct eye examinations, contact lens fittings, and extended service examinations.
- Support colleagues with training, coaching, and maintaining departmental standards.
- Deliver a wide range of care for the treatment and monitoring of eye conditions.
- Gain additional accreditations to deliver extended services, with full support and funding.
- Contribute to the development of new patient services.
- Foster positive relationships within the team and the wider community.
- Provide a memorable customer experience through clinical skills and passion.
Requirements for this Optometrist - Part Time position
- Fully qualified optometrist registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
- Registered performer with your NHS area team or health board.
- MECs or WECS accredited, or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months (funded and supported).
- On track to meet the statutory points requirement for Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Evidence of the Right To Work in the UK.
- Evidence of being on the NHS performer list for the nation you wish to work in.
- Two clinical references.
- If applying in Wales, evidence of WECS accreditation & WGOS module accreditation.
