We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Optometrist to join our team in Bishop Auckland, United Kingdom. What does this Optometrist role involve?

Your typical day will involve completing comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens fittings, and extended service examinations. You will collaborate closely with the Dispensing Optician Manager, supporting colleagues through training and coaching, and ensuring all departmental standards are maintained.

This role is committed to delivering a wide range of care for the treatment and monitoring of eye conditions, supported by extended service contracts with the NHS. You will be encouraged and supported to gain any additional accreditations necessary to deliver these services, enhancing your optical careers in Durham, United Kingdom.

Responsibilities for this Optometrist position

Conduct eye examinations, contact lens fittings, and extended service examinations.
Support colleagues with training, coaching, and maintaining departmental standards.
Deliver a wide range of care for eye conditions under NHS extended service contracts.
Contribute to a memorable customer experience through clinical skills and passion.
Develop new patient services and help shape the department's culture.

Requirements for this Optometrist position

Fully qualified Optometrist registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
Registered performer with your NHS area team or health board.
MECs or WECs accredited, or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months (funded and supported).
On track to meet the statutory points requirement for Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Possess the right to work in the UK.
Provide evidence of being on the NHS performer list for the nation you wish to work in.
Supply two clinical references.
If applying in Wales, provide evidence of WECS accreditation & WGOS module accreditation.

Working Hours and Salary for this Optometrist role

This is a part-time role with 16 hours per week. The rota options are:

Tuesday & Friday: 09:00 - 17:25 (includes a 25-minute unpaid lunch break)
Tuesday & Friday: 09:00 - 17:50 (includes a 50-minute unpaid lunch break)
