What does this Optometrist role involve?

This role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care and service. A typical day will involve completing eye examinations, contact lens assessments, and extended service examinations. You will collaborate with the Dispensing Optician Manager to support colleagues through training and coaching, ensuring departmental standards are maintained.

The practice is committed to delivering a wide range of care for the treatment and monitoring of eye conditions, supported by extended service contracts with the NHS. You will be supported to gain any additional accreditations needed to deliver these services.

Responsibilities for this Optometrist position

Complete comprehensive eye examinations.
Conduct contact lens assessments and extended service examinations.
Support colleagues with training and coaching.
Maintain departmental standards.
Deliver a wide range of eye care services for NHS contracts.
Contribute to developing new patient services.

Requirements for this Optometrist position

Be a fully qualified Optometrist registered with the GOC.
Be a registered performer with your NHS area team or health board.
MECs or WECs accredited, or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months (funded and supported).
Be on track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD.
Possess the skills and passion to deliver a memorable customer experience.
Be passionate about developing new patient services and shaping department culture.
Provide evidence of the Right To Work in the UK.
Provide evidence of being on the NHS performer list for the nation you wish to work in.
Provide 2 clinical references.
If applying in Wales, provide evidence of WECS accreditation & WGOS module accreditation.
