What does this Optometrist role involve?
In this Optometrist role, your typical day will include conducting comprehensive eye examinations, contact lens examinations, and extended service examinations. You will collaborate with the Dispensing Optician Manager to support colleagues through training and coaching, while also maintaining high departmental standards.
This position is dedicated to providing a broad spectrum of care for the treatment and monitoring of eye conditions, supported by NHS extended service contracts. You will receive support to gain any necessary additional accreditations required to deliver these services.
Responsibilities of this Optometrist position
- Conduct comprehensive eye examinations.
- Perform contact lens fittings and aftercare.
- Undertake extended service examinations.
- Support and train colleagues within the optical department.
- Maintain high departmental standards.
- Deliver NHS-funded eye care services.
Requirements for this Optometrist position
- Be a fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC.
- Be a registered performer with your NHS area team or health board.
- MECs or WECs accredited, or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months (funded and supported).
- On track to meet the statutory points requirement for CPD.
- Able to use clinical skills and passion to deliver a memorable customer experience.
- Passionate about developing new patient services and shaping department culture.
- Evidence of Right To Work in the UK.
- Provide evidence of being on the NHS performer list for the nation you wish to work in.
- Provide 2 clinical references.
- For roles in Wales, provide evidence of WGCS accreditation & WGOS module accreditation.
