This is an opportunity for anyone seeking 3 days / 24 hours per week (9am - 5:30pm) working as an Optical Assistant in Northcote Road (Battersea). The position offers a starting salary of up to £16,049.28 per annum (equivalent to £26,748.80 FTE), which rises to £16,610.88 per annum (equivalent to £27,684.80 FTE) upon completing the Front of House Development course.
What you'll be doing
- Acting as the first point of contact for visitors and callers, greeting everyone with a warm and welcoming approach
- Listening to client needs, taking ownership of queries, and working closely with the practice manager, optometrists, audiologists, and dispensing opticians
- Assisting clients in selecting suitable frames, lenses, and optical products, with experience in dispensing single focus lenses, multi-focal lenses, and contact lenses
- Scheduling appointments, managing bookings, handling payments, and processing orders
- Maintaining product displays to keep the store tidy, presentable, and focused on delivering exceptional client care
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in optical retail
- Strong IT skills alongside excellent communication and listening abilities
- A keen interest in eye care, eyewear, and building strong relationships with peers and clients
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities, with the capacity to work well both independently and as part of a team
