We are looking for an experienced Dispensing Optician jobs candidate to join a busy independent practice in 5 days / 40 hours per week (covering a rotating schedule of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday for week one, and Monday to Friday for week two, from 9am to 5.30pm). This position offers a starting salary of up to £26,748.80 per annum, which increases to £27,684.80 FTE per annum following completion of the CEA course.
What you'll be doing
- Greet customers warmly in person and over the phone, serving as the first point of contact for anyone visiting or contacting the practice
- Assist customers in selecting suitable frames, lenses, and other optical products
- Dispense single focus lenses, multi-focal lenses, and contact lenses
- Schedule appointments, manage bookings, and handle administrative tasks including processing payments and orders
- Maintain product displays and ensure the store remains tidy and presentable
- Work closely with the Practice Manager, Optometrists, Audiologists, and team members to determine the best solutions for clients
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in optical retail, specifically with dispensing single focus lenses, multi-focal lenses, and contact lenses
- Strong IT skills alongside excellent communication and listening skills
- Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities
- A keen interest in eye care and eyewear
- The ability to work well both within a team and independently
