We are currently recruiting for full-time Optical Assistant jobs at an established independent practice based in Lancaster, offering a rewarding career where patient care comes first. You will join a small, supportive team of three with a reputation for delivering a people-first environment free from corporate sales targets.
What you'll be doing as an Optical Assistant
- Providing expert advice, sharing knowledge on frames and fittings, and delivering ongoing care that makes patients feel confident and comfortable
- Supporting patients with frame styling, lens choices, fittings, adjustments, and aftercare tailored to their visual and lifestyle needs
- Assisting with day-to-day practice tasks, contributing to the upkeep of displays and equipment, and acting as a reliable point of contact for patients and colleagues
- Managing more complex prescriptions with the support of the wider team
What we're looking for
- A genuine interest in people with a caring, can-do attitude and an eye for detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust with patients
- Previous experience working in optics is welcome, but applications are also encouraged from candidates without optical experience
- Willingness to work some Saturdays from 09:00 AM to 1:30 PM
