We are currently recruiting for Optical Assistant jobs in Exeter, offering a full-time schedule with a competitive salary of £12.71 to £13.00 per hour and the benefit of no Sunday or bank holiday working. Based in a patient-focused independent practice, this position is ideal for someone looking to build a rewarding career in optics within a supportive local team.
What you'll be doing
- Providing expert advice on frames, lenses, fittings, adjustments, and aftercare
- Styling patients and matching products to their visual and lifestyle needs
- Managing more complex prescriptions with support from the wider team
- Assisting with day-to-day practice tasks and maintaining displays and equipment
- Working collaboratively with a team of 10 across two consulting rooms
- Delivering a smooth, unhurried patient experience supported by 40-minute appointment times
What we're looking for
- Previous experience working in optics is ideal, though full training is given if you are new to the sector
- A genuine interest in people with an eye for detail and a caring, can-do attitude
- Willingness to work Saturdays as part of the weekly routine
