We are recruiting for a part-time Experienced Optical Assistant to join an independent practice in Birmingham, offering a welcoming environment with £12.71 per hour and 40-minute comprehensive eye examinations supported by cutting-edge OCT technology.
What you'll be doing
- Providing expert advice on frames, lenses, fittings, adjustments, and aftercare
- Delivering tailored product knowledge based on each patient's visual and lifestyle needs
- Assisting with styling consultations, stock selection, and visual merchandising
- Managing more complex prescriptions with the support of a six-strong team across two consulting rooms
- Helping with day-to-day practice tasks and maintaining the upkeep of displays and equipment
- Acting as a friendly, reliable point of contact for patients and colleagues

- Previous experience working in an optical setting
- A genuine interest in people with an eye for detail and a caring, can-do attitude
- The ability to build trust with patients and offer honest, unhurried advice
- A collaborative approach to ensure every patient has a smooth, positive experience
