We are recruiting for Optical Assistant jobs in Great Dunmow, offering a part-time schedule paying £25,000 to £27,000 alongside excellent wellbeing and lifestyle benefits. Based in a newly refurbished, community-focused independent practice, this position gives you the time and freedom to deliver high-quality, patient-first care without rushing.
What you'll be doing
- Guiding patients through frame and lens choices, offering expert advice, and ensuring accurate, comfortable fits
- Recommending the best lens and frame options for each individual's visual and lifestyle needs using advanced technology
- Taking precise measurements, managing complex prescriptions or adjustments, and handling patient queries with confidence
- Contributing to stock selection, styling displays, and the overall upkeep of the practice
- Working collaboratively with a friendly team of six in a relaxed, professional environment with generous 40-minute appointment times
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in an optical environment
- Experience working with Rodenstock lenses is ideal
- Warmth, care, and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service
- The availability to work some Saturdays
- Flexibility to work across other practices in the area would be ideal
