We are recruiting a full-time Optometrist in Cardiff, offering a competitive salary of up to £70,000 per annum and no weekend working. This flexible community-based role delivers essential eye care services to patients in their own homes across Wales.
What you'll be doing
- Visit approximately 6-8 patients every day in their homes
- Conduct unhurried 1-hour appointments to build strong relationships and deliver gold-standard care
- Spend approximately 2-3 weeks a month working within 50 miles of your home postcode
- Spend 1-2 weeks per month supporting clinics in other parts of Wales, with hotels and meal allowances provided for overnight stays
- Make autonomous clinical decisions while having access to a senior clinical support team at head office
- Utilise modern mobile equipment, including a digital fundus camera, mobile slit lamp, I-care tonometer, and digital records system
What we're looking for
- Fully qualified Optometrist registered with the GOC
- Enjoy travelling and feel comfortable working in a variety of different locations
- Happy to spend some time away from home each month for regional clinic support
- Passionate about delivering clinically excellent eye care and making a genuine difference to patients' lives
