We are currently recruiting an Optometrist jobs Newcastle upon Tyne candidate for a flexible community-based role, working 3 to 5 days per week with weekends off. This position brings essential eye care directly to people in their own homes, offering a competitive earning structure of £50 per patient plus commission on sales.
What you'll be doing
- Visit a cluster of 6 to 8 patients per day in their own homes across Newcastle and surrounding areas, with travel up to 50 miles from your home postcode when required
- Conduct thorough, unhurried appointments lasting up to one hour, giving you the time to build strong relationships and deliver high-standard care
- Make autonomous clinical decisions while having access to rapid support and second opinions from a senior team at head office
- Use modern mobile equipment including a portable slit lamp, I-care tonometer, and a digital records system that removes paper admin
What we're looking for
- A fully qualified and registered GOC-registered Optometrist
- Passion for providing accessible, clinically excellent eye care to patients who cannot easily reach the high street unaided
- Comfort with community-based travel and working independently using the latest mobile diagnostic technology
