We are currently recruiting an experienced Optometrist jobs seeker for a rewarding mobile role based in Colchester, offering 4 or 5 days a week with no weekends and a market-leading salary of up to £64,000 per annum depending on experience. This position allows you to step away from the high street and deliver vital, patient-focused eye care directly to people in their own homes across the East of England, supported by modern portable equipment and a dedicated clinical team.
What you'll be doing
- Visit approximately 6 to 7 patients per day in their own homes, care homes, or residential settings.
- Conduct thorough, unhurried eye examinations using 1-hour appointment slots to build better relationships and provide gold-standard care.
- Make autonomous clinical decisions while having access to fast support and second opinions from the senior clinical team at head office.
- Use the latest mobile diagnostic technology, including a digital fundus camera, mobile slit lamp, and I-care tonometer.
- Manage records through a digital system, removing the burden of paper admin.
What we're looking for
- A fully qualified and GOC-registered Optometrist.
- A passion for delivering clinically excellent eye care to vulnerable or less mobile patients.
- A full UK driving licence for travel to and between appointments.
- Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach.
