Are you looking for 38.75 hours per week on a permanent contract? We are looking for a customer-focused team member to fill one of the current Optical Assistant jobs in Berkhamsted.
This is a permanent position based in Hertfordshire, where you will help patients choose the right frames and lenses while delivering a high standard of customer care.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients into the practice and managing appointments
- Dispensing spectacles to a high clinical and aesthetic standard
- Helping customers select frames, lenses and coatings that suit their needs and prescriptions
- Adjusting and repairing frames to ensure a comfortable fit
- Carrying out pre-screening tests including autorefraction and tonometry
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and well-stocked practice floor
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment, ideally within optics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive approach to helping customers and working as part of a team
- Attention to detail when handling prescriptions and measurements
