We are currently recruiting for 23.25 hours per week on a permanent contract for Optical Assistant jobs Aylesbury, offering a great opportunity to develop your career in Buckinghamshire. You will join a dedicated, customer-focused team in a busy local practice where you help patients find the right frames and lenses every day.
What you'll be doing
- Greet patients warmly as they arrive in practice and manage enquiries efficiently
- Dispense glasses and contact lenses to suit individual prescription and lifestyle needs
- Take accurate facial measurements and adjust frames for a comfortable fit
- Support pre-screening duties including OCT scans and visual fields testing where required
- Maintain a clean, organised and well-stocked practice floor
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a customer-facing retail or healthcare environment is preferred
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner
- Confidence in dealing with people of all ages and listening to their specific needs
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn about optical products and services
- High attention to detail, particularly when handling orders and patient records
