We are currently recruiting for Optical Assistant jobs offering 23.25 hours per week on a temporary or fixed term contract based in Nugent Shopping Park. This is an ideal opportunity for a customer-focused individual looking to join a busy practice in a supportive team environment.
What you'll be doing
- Delivering exceptional customer service to every patient who visits the practice
- Dispensing spectacles and helping customers select frames and lenses that suit their lifestyle and prescription needs
- Undertaking pre-screening duties, including autorefraction, tonometry and visual acuity checks
- Adjusting, repairing and dispensing eyewear to ensure a comfortable and accurate fit
- Booking appointments, managing diary schedules and handling general administrative enquiries
- Maintaining a high standard of merchandising and cleanliness across the shop floor
What we're looking for
- Previous experience within a customer service or retail environment, ideally within optics
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling patient data and prescriptions
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Confidence in dealing with queries face-to-face and over the phone
