We are looking for a dedicated team member to fill one of the new Optical Assistant jobs available at a busy practice in Braehead Shopping Centre, offered on a permanent basis working 31 hours per week. This customer-facing role puts you at the heart of the practice, helping patients choose frames and lenses while providing exceptional service.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients to the practice and managing appointments in a friendly and professional manner
- Helping patients select frames and lenses that suit their individual style, prescription, and budget
- Taking accurate facial measurements and dispensing spectacles to a high standard
- Supporting the team with basic pre-screening, contact lens teaches, and general administrative duties
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and well-stocked retail floor to showcase the latest collections
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a customer service, retail, or optical environment is helpful, though full training is provided
- A confident, approachable manner with a genuine passion for helping people
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a close-knit team
- Attention to detail and comfort with basic technology and numbers
