We are looking for a customer-focused team member to take on Optical Assistant jobs based in Bristol, working a temporary fixed-term contract of 7.75 hours per week. This position is based in a busy local practice, providing an ideal opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community eyecare.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients and visitors to the practice with a professional and friendly manner
- Assisting customers with frame selection, styling advice, and fitting spectacles correctly
- Taking measurements, adjusting frames, and carrying out minor repairs and adjustments
- Managing appointments, answering telephone enquiries, and handling reception duties
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and well-merchandised practice environment at all times
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or a healthcare environment is an advantage but not essential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for helping people
- A confident, approachable manner and the ability to work well as part of a close-knit team
- Good attention to detail and willingness to learn about optical products and terminology
