We are looking for a dedicated team member to fill a permanent 15.5 hours per week Optical Assistant job in Enfield. This is a hands-In-store customer service role based in a busy local practice, offering a chance to build a rewarding career while helping patients find the right eyewear.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients into the practice and guiding them through their visit from start to finish
- Pre-screening patients using automated equipment before their eye examination
- Dispensing frames and lenses, offering expert style and fit advice tailored to individual prescriptions
- Adjusting, repairing and dispensing spectacles to ensure a comfortable and accurate fit
- Managing bookings, answering telephone enquiries and handling general reception duties
- Maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness across the practice floor
What we're looking for
- A warm, confident and approachable manner with a natural flair for customer service
- Strong communication skills and the ability to listen to patient needs
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling prescriptions and patient records
- A proactive team player who is happy to support colleagues across different areas of the practice
- Previous experience in retail, optics or customer-facing environments is helpful, though full training will be provided
