We are currently supporting candidates who want 16 hours per week on a permanent basis with Optical Assistant jobs based in Cadle. This customer-facing role offers a steady part-time schedule within a well-established practice environment.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients and visitors to the practice with a professional and friendly approach
- Conducting pre-screening testing, including autorefraction and tonometry, before clinical appointments
- Dispensing frames and lenses to suit individual prescription needs, face shapes, and lifestyle requirements
- Adjusting, repairing, and fitting spectacles to ensure a comfortable and precise fit for every customer
- Managing enquiries, booking appointments, and handling telephone and face-to-face communications
- Maintaining presentation standards across the practice floor and keeping display areas fully stocked
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a customer service, retail, or optical environment is beneficial but full training is provided
- Strong communication skills and a confident, approachable manner with people of all ages
- Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling prescriptions, measurements, and personal data
- A proactive attitude towards helping team members and supporting the daily smooth running of the practice
- Willingness to learn about optical products, lens types, and basic eye health concepts
