We are currently hiring for Optical Assistant jobs based at our busy practice in the heart of the Four Seasons Shopping Centre, offering a permanent contract of 38.75 hours per week. This is a hands-on customer-facing role where you will help patients choose the right frames and lenses while delivering a consistently high standard of service.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients into the practice and managing appointments
- Dispensing spectacles and helping customers select frames that suit their prescription and lifestyle
- Adjusting, repairing and fitting eyewear to ensure a comfortable fit
- Performing pre-screening tests, including OCT scans and visual acuity checks
- Handling general enquiries over the phone and in person, keeping the sales floor tidy and well-stocked
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a customer service, retail or optical environment is helpful, though full training is provided
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner
- Strong attention to detail and confidence working with numbers and technology
- A reliable team player who enjoys helping people
