We are currently recruiting for 31 hours per week in Optical Assistant jobs Woking at a busy practice in Surrey. This temporary position offers a great opportunity to develop your optical experience in a supportive patient-facing environment.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients to the practice and managing arrivals
- Pre-screening patients using automated equipment
- Dispensing spectacles and helping customers select frames and lenses suited to their prescription and lifestyle
- Adjusting, repairing and fitting eyewear to ensure a comfortable and accurate fit
- Booking appointments and handling general phone and email enquiries
- Maintaining a clean, well-stocked and welcoming retail floor
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment, ideally within optics
- A confident, friendly and professional communication style
- Strong attention to detail and good basic numeracy skills
- The ability to work well as part of a close-knit team
- Willingness to learn about optical products, lens types and health regulations
