We are looking for a dedicated candidate to take on 38.75 hours per week on a temporary, fixed-term contract for Optical Assistant jobs based in Widnes. This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy practice in Cheshire, supporting patients with their eye care needs and helping them find the right frames and lenses.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients into the practice and guiding them through their visit
- Pre-screening patients using automated equipment before their eye examinations
- Dispensing spectacles, adjusting frames, and taking accurate measurements
- Booking appointments, answering telephone enquiries, and managing patient records
- Educating customers on lens options, coatings, and finishing touches to suit their lifestyle
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a customer-facing or retail environment, ideally within optics
- Strong communication skills and a confident, friendly telephone manner
- Attention to detail and the ability to work well as part of a busy team
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing daily priorities
