We are looking for a customer-focused team member to take on a permanent 15.5 hours per week Optical Assistant role based in The Mall, offering a great opportunity for candidates who want to build a career in eye care.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming customers into the practice and guiding them through their visit
- Dispensing spectacles and helping patients choose frames and lenses that suit their prescription and lifestyle
- Carrying out pre-screening tests, including OCT scans and visual fields
- Adjusting, repairing and dispensing glasses to a high standard
- Booking appointments and handling customer enquiries in person and over the phone
- Working closely with the rest of the team to keep the practice running smoothly and professionally
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a customer-facing or retail environment is preferred, though full training will be provided
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner
- Good attention to detail and confidence with numbers and technology
- A genuine interest in optics and helping people find the right eye care solutions
