We have a new opportunity for Optical Assistant jobs based in Bristol, offering a fixed-term temporary contract working 14.25 hours per week. This role gives you the chance to join a busy, patient-focused practice in the heart of the city, supporting customers through their optical journey with expert care and guidance.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients to the practice and helping them feel at ease from the moment they arrive.
- Dispensing frames and lenses tailored to individual prescriptions, face shapes, and lifestyle needs.
- Conducting pre-screening tests, including OCT scans and visual fields, with accuracy and care.
- Adjusting, repairing, and fitting spectacles to ensure a comfortable and precise fit.
- Managing bookings, answering customer enquiries by phone and in person, and handling collection queries.
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a customer-facing retail environment is preferred, though full training will be provided.
- A warm, approachable manner with a genuine passion for helping people.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to listen carefully to customer needs.
- Good attention to detail and confidence working with numbers and technology.
- A strong team player who can also use their own initiative during busy periods.
