We are currently supporting a practice in Canterbury with 20 hours per week on a temporary, fixed-term contract, offering an ideal opportunity for anyone seeking Optical Assistant jobs.
You will be joining a supportive team in Kent to help deliver high standards of patient care and customer service on the shop floor.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients to the practice and managing appointments
- Dispensing spectacles and helping customers choose frames and lenses that suit their prescription and lifestyle
- Adjusting, repairing and fitting eyewear to ensure a comfortable and accurate fit
- Carrying out pre-screening tests, including OCT scans and visual fields, where required
- Working closely with optometrists and dispensing opticians to ensure a smooth patient journey
- Maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness across the practice floor
What we're looking for
- Previous experience within a customer-facing retail environment, ideally within optics
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner
- Confidence in helping customers select products and explaining technical details simply
- High attention to detail and accuracy when handling prescriptions and patient data
- A proactive attitude and the ability to work well as part of a busy team
