We are looking for a dedicated candidate to take on permanent 15.5 hours per week for Optical Assistant jobs in Glasgow, offering a great opportunity to join a busy practice in Silverburn. This customer-facing role involves helping patients choose frames, taking measurements, and supporting the wider team to deliver a smooth in-store experience.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients to the practice and helping them navigate frame choices and lens options
- Dispensing spectacles, taking accurate measurements, and adjusting frames for a comfortable fit
- Handling enquiries, booking appointments, and managing collections
- Maintaining high standards of presentation across the practice floor and eyewear displays
- Working collaboratively with optometrists and dispensing opticians to ensure patient satisfaction
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a customer service, retail, or optical environment is helpful, though full training is provided
- Excellent communication skills and a confident, friendly telephone manner
- Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to admin and frame adjustments
- A proactive team player who is comfortable working on their feet in a fast-paced setting
