We are currently recruiting for an Optical Assistant to join our busy practice in Ayr on a permanent, part-time basis working 7.75 hours per week. This is a great opportunity to start a rewarding optical career with a supportive local team.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients and visitors to the practice with a friendly, professional manner
- Helping customers find the right frames and lenses to suit their style and prescription
- Booking appointments and managing customer queries in person and over the phone
- Carrying out basic pre-screening tests, adjusting frames, and dispensing glasses under supervision
What we're looking for
- Previous customer service or retail experience is an advantage, though full training is provided
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for helping people
- A team player who is organised, approachable, and eager to learn new skills
