This is a fixed-term 12 hours per week Optical Assistant job in Monmouth, offering a great opportunity to join a busy practice on a temporary basis.
We are looking for a customer-focused team member to support our patients and colleagues in Monmouthshire.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients to the practice and helping them navigate their visit
- Dispensing spectacles and helping patients select frames and lenses that suit their lifestyle and prescription
- Undertaking pre-screening duties including OCT scans and visual fields testing
- Adjusting, repairing, and dispensing glasses to ensure a comfortable fit
- Managing bookings, answering telephone enquiries, and general reception duties
What we're looking for
- Previous customer service or retail experience, ideally within an optical setting
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner
- The ability to work well as part of a busy team and use your own initiative
- Attention to detail when handling prescriptions and patient records
