We are currently recruiting an Optometrist jobs Ayr candidate for a permanent 38.75 hours per week position based in the heart of Ayr. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver exceptional patient care within a well-established local practice equipped with modern clinical technology.
What you'll be doing
- Conduct thorough, professional sight tests and comprehensive eye examinations for a diverse patient base
- Issue accurate prescriptions and dispense appropriate optical appliances tailored to individual patient needs
- Provide expert contact lens fittings, aftercare assessments, and specialized clinical advice
- Investigate ocular health thoroughly, recognizing early signs of eye disease and managing referrals appropriately
- Collaborate closely with dispensing opticians, practice managers, and support staff to ensure a seamless patient journey
- Maintain precise, up-to-date clinical records in compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements
What we're looking for
- GOC registered Optometrist with a current licence to practice in the UK
- Therapeutic endorsement or a willingness to undertake further clinical development
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to build rapport and explain clinical findings clearly to patients
- Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for delivering high standards of patient-centred care
- A collaborative team player approach to working within a busy retail and clinical environment
