What you'll be doing
- Delivering a warm, professional welcome to every customer who walks through the door
- Guiding patients through frame selection, helping them choose styles that suit their face shape, lifestyle and prescription
- Taking accurate facial measurements and dispensing spectacles to the highest standard
- Handling contact lens collections, explaining insertion and removal techniques, and managing aftercare queries
- Booking appointments, answering telephone enquiries, and managing the busy appointment diary
- Assisting with basic pre-screening duties, such as auto-refraction and visual field testing, where required
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and well-stocked practice floor so displays always look inviting
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, or a patient-facing environment is preferred, though full training is provided
- A friendly, approachable manner and a natural confidence when talking to people of all ages
- Strong communication skills and the ability to listen carefully to customer needs
- Good basic numeracy and literacy skills for handling orders and dispensing calculations
- A reliable, flexible and proactive team player who is happy to help out across all areas of the practice
