We are looking for a reliable team member to take on a temporary 15.5 hours per week Optical Assistant position in Stratford-upon-Avon, offering a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community eyecare.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients into the practice and managing appointments with a warm, professional manner
- Helping customers choose frames and lenses that suit their lifestyle, prescription, and facial shape
- Taking accurate facial measurements and dispensing spectacles to ensure a comfortable fit
- Adjusting, repairing, and cleaning frames, as well as handling minor optical adjustments
- Supporting the wider team with general administrative tasks, stock management, and keeping the sales floor pristine
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a customer-facing retail, hospitality, or healthcare environment is an advantage, though full training will be provided
- Strong communication skills and a natural flair for helping people
- High attention to detail, particularly when recording measurements and handling customer orders
- A collaborative, approachable attitude and willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment
