We are looking for a dedicated team member to fill one of the newest Optical Assistant jobs in Newbury, offering 15.5 hours per week on a temporary, fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on patient-facing role based in Berkshire, where you will help customers find the right frames and lenses while delivering high standards of care.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients into the practice and managing appointments
- Dispensing spectacles and helping customers select frames that suit their prescription and lifestyle
- Performing pre-screening tests, including OCT scans and visual fields where required
- Adjusting, repairing and fitting glasses to ensure a comfortable and accurate fit
- Handling enquiries, taking payments and booking follow-up appointments
