We are recruiting for a permanent Optical Assistant jobs opportunity based in Midsummer Arcade, offering 22 hours per week with a supportive team in a modern practice environment. This customer-facing role is ideal for someone with a passion for optics who wants to help patients find the right frames and lenses while delivering exceptional service.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients into the practice and managing appointments efficiently
- Dispensing spectacles and helping customers select frames that suit their style and prescription needs
- Undertaking frame adjustments, repairs, and basic optical measurements
- Conducting pre-screening tests including autorefraction and tonometry
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming showroom floor
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a customer service or retail environment, ideally within optics
- Strong communication skills and a confident, friendly telephone manner
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling prescriptions
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced setting
