We are currently recruiting for 15.5 hours per week on a permanent basis for Optical Assistant jobs based in Buckingham. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a supportive community practice where you can develop your optical career and deliver exceptional customer care.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming patients into the practice and guiding them through their appointment journey
- Dispensing spectacles and helping customers choose frames and lenses that suit their lifestyle and prescription needs
- Adjusting, repairing, and fitting glasses to ensure a comfortable and accurate fit
- Booking appointments, managing enquiries over the phone, and handling general reception duties
- Assisting with pre-screening checks and maintaining accurate patient records using practice software
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a customer-facing retail or healthcare environment is preferred, though full training will be provided
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner
- Strong attention to detail and good basic IT skills
- A genuine passion for helping people and working as part of a close-knit team
- Willingness to learn about optical products, lenses, and eye health
