We are currently hiring for a permanent Optical Assistant jobs Westgate opportunity offering 23.25 hours per week, based in a busy and well-established practice in Kent. This is a hands-on position where you will deliver exceptional customer care and support the smooth day-to-day running of the store, with a friendly team ready to welcome you.
What you'll be doing
- Greet patients warmly as they arrive, managing appointments and handling enquiries both in person and over the phone
- Guide customers through frame selection, helping them find styles that suit their face shape, lifestyle, and prescription needs
- Take accurate measurements, adjust and repair frames, and dispense spectacles with care and precision
- Complete preliminary health screening tests using automated optical equipment before patients see the optometrist
- Maintain a clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing sales floor that showcases the latest eyewear collections
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, or a healthcare environment is helpful, though full training is provided
- Excellent communication skills and a natural flair for helping people feel at ease
- Good attention to detail and confidence working with numbers and technology
- A collaborative team player who is happy to pitch in across all areas of the practice
