We are looking for a dedicated team member to take on a permanent Optical Assistant position in Cadle, working 25 hours per week. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive local practice where you can develop your optical career and deliver exceptional customer service.
What you'll be doing
- Welcoming customers into the practice and guiding them through their visit
- Dispensing spectacles and helping patients choose frames that suit their lifestyle and prescription
- Performing pre-screening measurements and diagnostic testing using modern optical equipment
- Adjusting, repairing and fitting eyewear to ensure a comfortable and precise fit
- Managing bookings, answering telephone enquiries and handling general reception duties
What we're looking for
- Previous experience in a customer-facing retail or healthcare environment is an advantage, though full training is provided
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a warm and professional telephone manner
- Strong attention to detail and good basic numeracy skills for handling measurements and transactions
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn new clinical and retail skills
- The ability to work well as part of a close-knit team in a busy environment
